Hi, I’m Kate.
It’s great to meet you – welcome! I’m a 20 – something Northern California native nestled in the heart of the Bay Area with my little family, not far from where I grew up.
I took up running 6 months after giving birth to my son as a kind of coping mechanism towards the changes happening in my life. After my first C25K workout (which was run at a 21:57 pace ) I thought “no way!”. I had danced competitively for 15 years, and was told at age 16 I would need double knee replacement surgery by my 21st birthday as a result. I put up a mental block after seeing how long it took me to complete a mere 1.3 miles. There was zero chance I could ever be a runner. Then, something clicked. I made a goal. After consistently putting in the work, I reached it. Then I made another, and another. Now, here I am blogging about it- and guess what? My knees are still my own, far beyond their original expiration date. To top it all off, I have a new favorite hobby. Life’s funny that way, isn’t it?
This blog is my passion project
I went to California State University, Sacramento ( Stingers Up! ) and have always wanted to further my education beyond CSUS. My goal is to help and maybe even inspire others (as well as hold myself accountable), which is how See Kate Run was born. Through this platform, I want to connect and grow with you all- and document my adventures along the way. Here, I’ve created a SAFE SPACE (let’s say it again for the people in the back!) for thoughts, feelings, goals, dreams, and everything in-between. Be forewarned: I will not tolerate negativity towards myself or others on this platform. There is no space for that here.
